Position Summary
We’re seeking a strategic and hands-on Manager of Contracting, Procurement & Inventory to lead our sourcing and vendor operations with precision and authority. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-growth environments and knows how to turn complex vendor ecosystems into streamlined, cost-effective partnerships. You’ll own the full contract lifecycle—from drafting and negotiation to performance oversight and renewal—and serve as the primary point of accountability for vendor relationships across the organization.
This is not just a procurement role—it’s a contract-heavy, vendor-facing leadership position that demands sharp negotiation instincts, deep operational rigor, and the ability to drive measurable value across our supply chain.
Responsibilities
Contract Negotiation & Management
- Lead end-to-end contract development, negotiation, and execution across all major vendor categories
- Draft, review, and manage RFQs, SOWs, MSAs, and SLAs with a focus on risk mitigation and favorable terms
- Own contract renewals, amendments, and compliance tracking, ensuring alignment with business needs and legal standards
- Collaborate with legal and finance teams to ensure contracts meet regulatory and budgetary requirements
Vendor Management & Governance
- Build and maintain strategic vendor relationships, serving as the primary liaison for performance, issue resolution, and escalation
- Develop vendor scorecards and governance frameworks to monitor KPIs, SLAs, and cost benchmarks
- Conduct regular business reviews with key suppliers to identify opportunities for cost savings, innovation, and operational improvement
- Lead vendor onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions and documentation
Procurement & Inventory Oversight
- Align procurement strategies with contract terms and vendor capabilities to ensure timely delivery of goods and services
- Manage inventory levels and forecasting in coordination with operations and finance teams
- Implement controls to reduce carrying costs, prevent stockouts, and optimize reorder cycles
- Support ERP and sourcing platform integration to improve visibility and reporting
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Partner with internal stakeholders to anticipate sourcing needs and align procurement priorities with business goals
- Lead and mentor procurement team members, fostering a culture of accountability, negotiation excellence, and vendor stewardship
- Own procurement budget and reporting, delivering insights that drive strategic decisions
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain operations - ideally within EV, energy, construction, or hardware startup environments
- Skilled in drafting and evaluating contracts, RFQs, SOWs, and MSAs across diverse vendor types
- Ability to work cross-functionally to align priorities, mitigate risks, and optimize procurement workflows
- Proficient in managing contract lifecycles, including renewals and vendor governance
- Hands-on experience with ERP and sourcing platforms such as Salesforce, SAP Concur, NetSuite, and Smartsheet
- Experience building procurement processes from scratch or scaling them
- Exceptional negotiation and vendor management skills
- Analytical skills and business acumen to own budgets and manage costs reporting
- Passion for sustainability and clean transportation
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with EV hardware supply chains, construction vendors, or international sourcing
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats—operational, strategic, and systems-focused
- Exposure to public-private project structures or grant-funded infrastructure efforts
- Experience with international sourcing a plus
