Job Description: Vice President of Operations

This is a remote role; commutable preferred. The Company is based in Arcadia, CA (Southern California) and the role requires meeting in person on an as-needed basis.

Position Summary
We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Vice President of Operations to lead the delivery and performance of our EV charging infrastructure. This role is ideal for a seasoned operator who thrives in high-growth environments and excels at bringing cross-functional teams together to accelerate throughput, improve construction timelines, and enhance network reliability.

The VP of Operations will oversee funding, origination, construction, project management, supply chain, and network operations—ensuring that once a site is selected, it moves swiftly and seamlessly through deployment and into high-performing service. This leader will be instrumental in breaking down silos, improving handoffs, and driving operational excellence across the organization. This person will be a key member of the executive leadership team, accountable for ensuring operational readiness and scalability in a fast-paced, capital-intensive environment.

This role reports to the CEO.


Responsibilities

Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution

  • Align and unify teams across construction, project management, supply chain, and network operations to improve speed, quality, and accountability.
  • Champion process improvement and standardization to eliminate inefficiencies and accelerate charger deployment.
  • Translate company goals into actionable KPIs and ensure consistent execution across departments.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and shared ownership of outcomes.
  • Identify and remove cross-functional bottlenecks and accelerate throughput
Construction & Deployment
  • Oversee execution of operations of EV charging infrastructure projects focusing on improving processes, ensuring scope, schedule, and budget targets are met.
  • Partner with the construction teams to help resolve escalations and remove bottlenecks for more efficient operations.
  • Implement scalable project management frameworks and milestone tracking systems.
  • Help drive improvements in permitting, utility coordination, and vendor performance to reduce delays.
Origination & Pre-Construction
  • Ensure site acquisition strategies are aligned with program-eligible funding and prioritize shovel-ready, high-IRR locations.
  • Work with the origination team to ensure the origination team is vetting and prioritizing sites with an eye toward execution feasibility and funding eligibility.
Supply Chain & Procurement
  • Lead procurement strategy, vendor management, and logistics planning to ensure equipment availability aligns with construction and funding deadlines.
  • Ensure real-time visibility into inventory and a strong control environment to reduce delays and cost overruns.
  • Integrate funding-related requirements into supplier onboarding and procurement decision-making.
Network Operations & Performance
  • Ensure charger uptime, reliability, and customer satisfaction through proactive monitoring and maintenance strategies.
  • Collaborate with technology and customer success teams to address performance issues and improve service delivery.
  • Develop and track KPIs related to charger availability, service response times, and throughput.
Compliance Execution
  • Partner with the Director of Funding and cross-functional leaders to operationalize funding contract requirements, including reporting deadlines, eligible cost tracking, and audit readiness.
  • Establish processes that ensure accurate documentation, milestone validation, and data integrity in Salesforce and other systems used to track funding/grant compliance.
  • Ensure that project schedules, construction activities, and vendor selection align with applicable grant timelines and compliance constraints.
  • Monitor and report on compliance KPIs to executive leadership, ensuring issues are addressed proactively.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Manage, mentor and grow a high-performing team including Directors and Managers across all operational functions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Support leadership development and career growth through structured feedback and goal-setting.
  • Build scalable systems and processes to support continued company growth.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 15+ years of experience in operations in sectors such as EV Charging, construction, infrastructure, energy, or transportation sectors.
  • Proven success scaling teams and processes in high-growth environments.
  • Strong background in construction delivery, supply chain optimization, and network operations.
  • Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills. Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action and results. Skilled in project financials, procurement strategy, and regulatory compliance.
Preferred Experience
  • Understanding of EV Chargers and federal and state funding programs including audit processes, documentation standards, and eligible cost tracking.
