Corporate Controller
Salary Range: $165,000 - $185,000
Job Description: Corporate Controller
This is a remote role; commutable preferred. The Company is based in Arcadia, CA (Southern California) and the role requires meeting in person on an as-needed basis.
Position Summary
- Financial Close: Manage team to close the books, reconcile accounts, analyze trends and report results to management
- Monthly Reporting: Responsible for financial statements and works with FP&A on monthly reporting to management.
- Revenue Recognition: Understand the Company’s grant agreements and assess revenue recognition.
- Accounting Functions: Oversee billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll and reporting. Work with funding on grant status and manage a team on invoicing compliance.
- Year End Audit: Primary contact for the Company’s annual audit. Work with auditors and the tax team to drive the audit to a successful conclusion.
- Process Owner and Process Improvement: Own Close to report, Procure to Pay, Payroll, and Financial Reporting processes. Strategically determine needed process improvements to improve efficiency in order to scale with the company growth.
- Investor Presentations: Assist CFO with gathering data and putting together investor presentations.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with FP&A to assist in budgeting and financial forecasting processes and analysis of results vs. the budget.
- Reporting: Prepare clear and concise financial reports, charts, and visualizations to communicate financial data to stakeholders and management. Design and maintain interactive dashboards to facilitate data-driven decision-making.
- Strategic Initiatives: Participate in financial evaluations of strategic initiatives. Streamline processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting across the company.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, economics or related field.
- CPA required
- 10+ years’ experience in accounting roles and most recently Assistant Controller or Controller.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Must be proficient in financial software and data analysis tools.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience working with cross functionally with multiple departments.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Datarails and Quickbooks are a plus.
