Director/Head of UX Design

EVCS is seeking a problem solving, customer obsessed Director/Head of UX Design with a desire to solve the challenge of demystifying public fast charging through world class UI/UX design vision and execution. As the single threaded mobile and web design leader, you will combine an innovative approach to human centered interaction with expertise in research, rapid prototyping, testing for and incorporating customer feedback. This role is for a hands-on leader who establishes a vision and strategy, scales their impact through cross-team collaboration, and leads the delivery of design artifacts. In this role you will work in a highly-collaborative, fast paced environment in partnership with the product, engineering, marketing and executive teams conspiring to design and optimize end-to-end experiences supporting EVCS’ subscriber growth and engagement objectives. You will have a blank slate to bring out-of-the-box thinking and customer advocacy to the design and development of an entirely new set of mobile apps. You will take on interaction and UI design challenges centered on location discovery, purchase funnel conversion, information architecture, ongoing engagement and loyalty for and mobile apps.

Key job responsibilities

  •  Use business requirements, market research and customer feedback to assist in developing scenarios, use cases, and high-level requirements
  •  Work closely with the product team to develop use cases and high-level requirements.
  •  Quickly, yet thoroughly, create process flows, wireframes, and visual design mockups as needed to effectively conceptualize and communicate detailed interaction     behaviors.
  •  Develop and maintain detailed user-interface and interaction specifications.
  •  Present and defend design recommendations to partners, stakeholders, and senior leadership for review, feedback, and approval.
  •  Measure the success and effectiveness of UX innovations.

Basic Qualifications

  •  8+ years of professional experience as a UX designer or interaction designer.
  • An online portfolio or samples of work on resume, demonstrating experience creating great end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices.

Preferred Qualifications

  •  Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
  •  Experience designing across Web and Mobile
  •  Passion for building a sustainable environmental future
  •  Curiosity for automotive innovation and disruptive technologies
  •  Experience working collaboratively with Product, Business Development, and Engineering teams to implement designs.
  •  Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills, including the ability to present design concepts clearly and persuasively to executive-level leadership.
  •  Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  •  Experience working in a collaborative team environment to deliver high-quality design solutions
