Job Description

As a Technical Product Manager, Charging Software Solutions, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction and success of our charging software products and services designed to meet the unique needs of our customers. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Software Development, UX/UI design, marketing, and customer support, to ensure the successful development and delivery of high-quality charging solutions.
This role is a full-time position within the Network Utilization and Customer Solutions department, and reports to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). This role is remote, with strong preference for location in Los Angeles or Sacramento, California.

Key Job Responsibilities

    • Product Strategy and Roadmap:
      • Support the CCO in developing a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap for charging software solutions, aligning with overall company goals and objectives. The focus is mostly external, aiming to serve existing and new EV charging customers, strategic partners, and site hosts, but it can also be internally oriented to improve operations and tracking of EV charging products.
      • Maintain updated knowledge about market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to drive innovation.
    • Product Requirements Definition:
      • Work closely with various stakeholders to gather and prioritize business and technical requirements, translating customer needs into detailed and actionable product specifications.
    • Product Lifecycle Management:
      • Manage the execution of the entire product lifecycle, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of customer charging products. Develop and integrate plans and timelines related to product design, development, testing, and launch.
      • Monitor and analyze product performance, gather feedback, and iterate on features to continuously improve the customer experience.
    • Customer Focus:
      • Champion the voice of the customer in product development, making data-driven decisions to enhance user satisfaction.
      • Conduct user research and gather user feedback to inform product improvements and new feature development.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
      • Collaborate with Software Development, design, and quality assurance teams to drive the successful development and delivery of charging software solutions.
      • Closely collaborate with UX/UI to develop detailed customer journeys.
      • Closely collaborate with Software Development to clearly articulate product requirements and specifications and ensure alignment with business objectives.
      • Foster effective communication and collaboration between different teams to ensure a seamless product development process.
    • Risk Management:
      • Identify potential risks and challenges in the product development process and work proactively to address them.
      • Mitigate risks through effective planning and execution strategies.

      Requirements:

      Basic Qualifications
      • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Product Design, Business, or a related field.
      • Proven experience as a Technical Product Manager (3+ years) for customer-focused software products and services; strong preference for experience in mobile applications.
      • Prior experience in the EV charging space (3+ years), with deep understanding of EV charging customer products and services and EV charging customer journeys.
      • Deep understanding of Software Development processes and methodologies.
      • Deep understanding of mobile applications development lifecycle.
      • Deep understanding of UX/UI methods.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
      • Excellent project management skills.
      • Strong technical background, and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
      Preferred Qualifications
      • Advanced degree in Engineering, Product Design, Business, or related field.
      • Prior experience working on EV charging software solutions.
      • Experience with Project Management tools (e.g. Trello).
      • Experience and certification in Agile Methodology.
      • Experience in Software Development and/or mobile applications.
